British composer for motion picture Patrick Gill is known for his dramatic themes and uplifting emotional music. Focusing predominantly on an orchestral/hybrid style, Patrick is an advocate for thematic scoring and high production value.

Having written music for a variety of motion pictures, films, commercials and trailer music publishers, his clients include – Capcom / Streetlight Films UK, Superior Music Audio, Immediate Music, The London Film Academy, Louve International School for Sri Lanka Television and City College Plymouth. His music also featured on a launch event show for Ninendo 3DS.

Born and raised Plymouth Devon, Patrick’s passion for music began from an early age. Playing the piano from the age of 5, he received classical training as a teenager and throughout his school years where he also played trumpet for the senior orchestra. Growing up with a diverse taste in music and heavy influence of electronica, Patrick first began scoring to picture during his arts degree – producing electronic, ambient and dance jingles for local university films. Since graduation he has received mentorship in professional audio engineering from Gary Platts – Co-owner of P.C.S.A & Lead Guitarist of the rock band Karrallon/Quad Core

Patrick makes a point of working closely with directors and producers to help them in achieving their aesthetic vision. In 2010 Patrick wrote the score for the short ‘STREET FIGHTER LEGACY‘ – a live action adaptation based on the popular Capcom gaming franchise officially endorsed by Capcom, created by Joey Ansah ‘Bourne Ultimatum’. This gave Patrick a unique opportunity to work with oscar nominated producer Jacky Quella ‘Toolbox Murders’, director Owen Trevor ‘Top Gear’. The score also featured session recordings from the musical talents of guitarist Ryan Ansah and violinist Cathy Thompson. Street Fighter Legacy received a fantastic response on Youtube with a number of behind the scene features online – including XBOX LIVE, gaining a BAFTA screening in London and making it into the Official Playstation Magazine’s big 10 most talked about stories.

Patrick’s score for ‘THE SEER‘, a Sci-fi/Action short directed by Sandun Seneviratne and produced by Charlie Bray, received a screening at the ‘Athens Sci-fi Film Festival’ and the ‘Fantastic Planet Film Festival’ in Sydney.

Most recently his music featured on the official UK trailer for the new biopic movie ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’ staring Idris Elba.
